On 5 July, the commendation conference in celebration of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China was held by China Re Group in Beijing. Yuan Linjiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman China Re Group, attended the conference and delivered a speech, while He Chunlei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China Re Group, chaired the conference. Zhang Hong, leader of the second team of the Party History Learning and Education of CIC, Lu Xiuli and Wang Xiaoya, both Ddirectors of Equity Division of China Re Group, were invited to attend the conference.

　　The conference started with the solemn national anthem. He Chunlei announced the decision to commend 100 outstanding members of the Communist Party, 100 outstanding Party workers and 72 advanced grass-roots Party organizations of the Group, and put forward the list of 16 veteran Party members of the Group who have been awarded the “Glorious 50-Year Party Membership” memorial medal. He called on the Party members and employees of the Group to look up to the advanced unit as a role model, study and implement Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, remain true to the original aspiration, keep the Party’s ideology and belief firmly in mind and dare to assume responsibility and act proactively, so as to make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of the Group.

　　At the conference, members of the Party Committee of the Group presented awards to outstanding members of the Communist Party, outstanding Party workers and representatives of advanced grass-roots Party organizations of the Group, and awarded the “Glorious 50-Year Party Membership” memorial medal to the representatives of old Party members. The Group’s veteran Party members Yu Baozhong, Yu Guanglong, Gong Shuyan and Sun Shurong spoke as the representatives of the medal recipients. Zhang Lifeng of China Continent Insurance Inner Mongolia Branch, Wang Hongyan of China Re P&C, Xu Dongmei of China Continent Insurance Henan Branch and Cui Enqiao of the Group’s intra-organizational department were among the four advanced units and new Party member representatives who spoke on the stage.

　　Later, Yuan Linjiang led 12 new Party member representatives on the spot to take the Party oath, and all Party members recited the Admission Oath. The sonorous words “It is my will to join the Communist Party of China, uphold the Party’s program, observe the provisions of the Party Constitution, fulfil a Party member’s duties, carry out the Party’s decisions, strictly observe Party discipline, guard Party secrets, be loyal to the Party, work hard, fight for communism throughout my life, be ready at all times to sacrifice my all for the Party and the people, and never betray the Party” of the oath resonated with everyone. It was an ardent and yet solemn ceremony.

　　On behalf of the Party Committee of the Group, Yuan Linjiang extended his warmest congratulations and high respect to the Group’s winners of “Two Excellent and One Advanced” honor and recipients of the “Glorious 50-Year Party Membership” memorial medal. Yuan Linjiang looked back the century-long history of the Party and the struggles of China Re Group to grow with the nation. He pointed out that all the Party members of the Group shall continue to praise the glorious tradition, continue the red bloodline, pass on the great spirit of the Party eternally and carry it forward, bear in mind the history of struggles, keep the Party’s ideology and belief firmly in mind, adhere to the leadership of the Party, inherit the red gene, learn the power of progress, shoulder the responsibilities, and constantly create a new ground for the high-quality development of the Group.

　　He Chunlei emphasized that the Party organizations at all levels and all Party members of the Group shall earnestly study and implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping on 1 July as the current political priority, attaching great importance to, carefully organizing and acting on it quickly, such that the spirit of the important speech delivered on 1 July is continuously implemented across the system of the Group.

　　Members of the Party Committee of each subsidiary of the Group, representatives of the winners of “Two Excellent and One Advanced” honor, recipients of the “Glorious 50-Year Party Membership” memorial medal, new Party members and democratic party members, members of the Communist Youth League, model workers, and more than 6,900 Party members across the Group’s system participated in the conference either physically or through video conference.
